Beaumont Texas – 2013-2014, 2016-2018

Preformed IT Director functions including federal E-Rate compliance, budgetary planning, end user training along with technology long range planning and obsolescence. Saved the district in the first fiscal year over $90,000 in licensing fees and consulting costs by bringing expert services in house. Successfully migrated from VMWare ESXi to Hyper-V for cost effectiveness while expanding high availability of services. Developed, tested, and implemented 1-1 programs students while performing training for faculty. Implemented 802.1x wireless authentication on Aruba Networks controller based wireless systems for BYOD program. Moved the school into Google Apps for Education for student email and collaborative instruction and served as primary trainer for faculty, staff and students. Developed and deployed custom VoIP and communications software still in use today.

Managed a small team over operations and planning of large scale heterogeneous campus networks and datacenters including 2 datacenters, 300 access points, 400 security cameras, 120 switch stacks and over 1,000 IP phones. Managed an Internet and Internet 2 BGP peering partnership connecting local schools and colleges to Internet 2 resources. Migrated all wireless access points from autonomous to controller based with no impact to the 17,000 user base. Implemented programs procedures to better inventory and troubleshoot network related issues. Acted as an additional Linux Server Administrator, EMC SAN Administrator, and VMWare Administrator. Served as member of the Internet 2 Technical Advisory Committee for planning and expansion of Internet 2 and local LEARN networks.
